Seohyun Lee and Ahin Song meet at St. John's College, where education is centered on questions and dialogue. They begin to question the silence between North and South Korea. Why can we freely communicate with people from around the world, but not with people from North Korea? As they learn about a relationship they had known little about, they set out to find answers to the question of inter-Korean communication.

They meet a North Korean defector who has built a family in South Korea and experienced a "small reunification," and listen to experts discuss the "greater reunification" of the Korean Peninsula from political, economic, and diplomatic perspectives. They also walk through the border region between North and South Korea, experiencing the reality of division firsthand, and seek out people who are working today to build communication between the two Koreas.

Through this journey, the two filmmakers ask what kind of mindset we need for dialogue between North and South Korea, and what reunification truly means. They now invite audiences to join them on their journey to find the answers.

질문하고 대화하는 교육을 표방하는 St. John's College에서 만난 이서현과 송아인은 대화가 단절된 남북관계에 대해 의문을 품는다. 전 세계 사람들과 자유롭게 나누는 대화를 왜 북한 사람들과는 하지 못할까? 두 사람은 잘 알지 못했던 남북관계를 공부하며, '남북소통'에 대한 답을 찾아 나선다.

대한민국에서 가정을 이루며 '작은 통일'을 경험한 탈북민을 만나고, 정치·경제·외교의 관점에서 바라본 한반도의 '큰 통일'에 대한 전문가들의 이야기를 듣는다. 또한 남북 접경지역을 직접 걸어보며 분단을 느껴보고, 현재 남북소통을 위해 노력하는 사람들을 찾아가 이야기를 들어보았다.

그렇게 두 사람은 남북 간 대화를 위해 한국인이 가져야 할 마음가짐과 통일이 무엇인지에 대해 질문한다. 그 답을 찾아가는 여정을 이제 관객과 함께 나누고자 한다.
